What is a blog?

Blogs are basically a log or a journal about yourself.

Now I am going to tell you a bit about them.  Firstly you will need a computer then you need the internt.  You can ave any sort to internet dial up, Wi-Fi or just broadband.

Secondly what the website is called.  It is easy all you need to do is type the website into your computer and you are there o the blog.

Lastly you can put posts, writing, photos music and videos on your blog when you sign in.

And that is what makes a blog a blog.

Is the world a dangerous place for kids?

The world can be a dangerous place for kids because there are tornadoes and earthquakes and lots of other hazards in the world.  The world is a safe place in some places but I don't think that I would be scared about that.  Kids will turn into a adult at some stage so they will probably be ok.

Learner Profile Goal

All of Room 8 at Myross Bush School had to chose a L.P goal.  L.P stands for Leaner Profile goal.  My L.P goal is being a questioner. I chose this goal because I need to put my hand up more.

I have done well with my goal but I need to do  a little bit more on it till it is just right.

Jerry Palotta

On the 30^th and the 31^st of May all the year 5’s from Myross Bush School went to room 8 because the year 6’s went to Dunedin for young leaders with Mss Stewart and Mr Herring.  That meant the year‘s had Mrs Wilcox. We decided to learn about Jerry Palotta.  Jerry Palotta is a children’s book author and he writes lots of A-Z and Counting books. He got sick of the A for Apple, X for X-ray and the Z for Zebra. He decided to do lots of research and info.

We read some of his books and we got some good ideas.  We all had to Put A-Z in our writing books and then come up with things from A-Z of Myross Bush School for example A for Aviary and R for Rugby.  Once we had done that then we all got together and we picked out all the good ones.  We thought we could make a book from A-Z for Room 1 to learn the alphabet.  We all got to pick a letter each to draw pictures on that page. People who got them all done first got to do another one if there were any more pages to be done.  Once we had all the pages done we got them laminated and then binded into a book. Then some of as went to Room 1 presented the book.  And that is what all the year 5’s did in two days while the years 6’s were at young Leaders.

Quickies

I have been working on my gropes quickie and we are doing the topic: What Makes Myross Bush School’s Technology cool?  In my group is Cameron, Zach, Robbie and I.  Making them is fun and we have just finished adding our pictures and voices.

Friday 3/6/11

Today we had assembly and we had a Spellathon. We all had to learn 100 words for the first 5 weeks of term 2.  People could sponsor you and then the school gets the money.
